Aug 04, 2015 One cubic yard, or 27 cubic inches, of mulch or other material fills a cube with 3 feet on each edge. When spread, each cubic yard of mulch covers a 100-square foot area with a thickness of 3 inches. Depending on the weight of the mulch and weight rating of the truck, a full-sized pickup truck is able to haul 2 to 3 yards of mulch per trip.

As 1000kg of pure water = 1 cubic metre, those materials under 1000kg/cu.m will float; more dense will sink ie. those materials with a specific gravity more than 1. Pure water was chosen as the 'base line' for specific gravity and given the value of 1. The specific gravity of all other materials are compared to water as a fraction heavier or ...

Hi Zsuzsi, I looked for the density (kilograms per cubic metre) of mulch and I found a wide range from 850 pounds per cubic yard (504.29 kg/m 3) to 450 pounds per cubic yard (266.97 kg/m 3).If this range is correct then your 70 cubic meters weighs between 504.29 × 70 = 35300.3 kilograms to 266.97 × 70 = 18687.9 kilograms.
Typically, mulch products weigh between 400-800 lbs. per cubic yard; Compost weighs between 1000 – 1600 lbs and soil blends weigh between 2200-2700 lbs. How much volume can my pickup hold? A full size ¾ or 1 ton pickup can hold 2-3 cubic yards, slightly rounded, but weight must be considered.
cubic yards = cubic feet ÷ 27; cubic feet = cubic inches ÷ 1728; In the UK, mulch is usually sold in litres. One cubic meter is equivalent to 1000 litres, which is a common size for sacks of mulch. Additionally, each product typically lists its square-metre coverage, which means the shop has already factored in the depth.
The depth is in cm for mulch. Please enter it in cm for soil as well. You can add more than one site area to the volume calculator; If you have any trouble, give us a call on 1300 BLOWIT and we will help you with your order. Tips for ordering landscape material. Recall that specific gravity is density in grams per cubic centimeter (g/cm 3); since the denominator of the specific density is one cubic centimeter, and assuming we want to calculate the weight of a cubic meter, we simply have to multiply 0.59 * 1000 to get 590 kilograms as the m dry for Equation 2.
So we divide our 92,160 by 46,656 to get 1.98 cubic yards. Call it 2 cubic yards. Calculating Compost Requirement – Metric. The same calculation in metric measurements would be 3 M x 1.2 M = 300 cm x 120 cm giving an area of 36,000 sq. cm Times 5 cm depth gives us 180,000 cubic cm and times 8 beds gives us 1,440,000 cubic cm in total.
May 11, 2019 Full-size pickup trucks – often handle 1 cubic yard of gravel and stone, 2-3 cubic yards of mulch, or 2 cubic yards of dirt. Small trailers and pickups – usually handle 1.5 cubic yards of mulch or 1 cubic yard of dirt. Dump trucks – can handle up to 5 cubic yards of dirt or over 10 cubic yards of dirt if it’s bigger. Conclusion
A tonne of moderately damp gravel typically fills about 0.595 m 3 (cubic meters). It can be more or less dense depending the size of the pebbles, the exact type of source rock, as well as purity. Ton vs tonne, tons vs tonnes. When calculating the gravel weight, make sure you do not confuse the tonne (metric ton) with the ton (short ton).
